So, I made this recipe today and need a name for it... Here it is:
crust: (breadmaker directions--if you know how to make it homemade you're way beyond my skill level and can figure it out)
1 1/4 cup white flour
1 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 cup flax seed
1 1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons oil
2 1/4 teaspoons yeast
throw it all in the breadmaker on dough and sit tight while it makes itself
filling:
1 pound ground beef
1/2 onion
1 cup bell peppers (I get the frozen assortment that has green, red, yellow and orange... already chopped up!)
1 jalapeno
1/4 cup fresh parsley leaves
1 teaspoon tumeric
2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
3 cups mozzarella cheese
1 tablespoon butter
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Chop veggies and parsley and cook on top of stove with ground beef until almost finished. Be sure not to overcook as there will be plenty of cooking time once it's in the oven.
Once dough is cooked, separate it into 2 even-sized chunks and roll them each out separately to be a rectangle. Lay the first one on the bottom of a greased 9x14 pan. Scoop veggie mix in the middle and spread out evenly--making sure to leave a border for the top crust to attach to the bottom. Spread cheese over veggie mix. (I know it's alot but that makes it SOOOO good!) Place top dough piece on mixture and press the edges of both doughs together as you would a pie. Cut butter into 4 small slices and place on top of crust. (would also be good with egg white on top BUT I'm out... sorry)
Cook at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes or until done. Take small bites and savor each one as there are too many calories to not appreciate it. ;)
Let me know if you can think of a name!
